Typing On Spring Break While Watching Judge Alex

Judge Alex is kinda hot. Yeah, you heard me. I have a thing for Judge Alex. He's smart, funny, dignified and well tempered. Moving on.

I DIG Loreal's HIP line. It makes sense to me that they are the parent company of my beloved Lancome. They truly do follow their title of High Impact Pigments.
Their Kohl Eyeliner is BADASS! It's a powder, but comes in a tube where the  applicator comes through a little hole so it doesn't get everywhere and it's firm enough to make a perfect line, even under the lower lashes but miraculously has NO fallout. The Gold Kohl is beautiful, longlasting, and amazing to apply. The rubber applicator gives as smooth a line as a liquid eyeliner but with the smooth blending of a powder. There's a TON in the tube but I do admit that I'm wondering how I'll get it out since the tube is wide and the narrow applicator doesn't seem to have a lot of wiggle. Still for the price it's as good (or better) as any department store brand.

3 Custome Color Lip Gloss in F**** Me (yes it is called that and they mean business) is booty-ful. Unlike a lot of glosses, it has a lot of color- a fuschia stain with gold shimmer undertones. Very smooth with enough color to leave a bit of stain even after you're ready for a re-app. A sexy stain. F*** Me, indeed.

Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance Policy is an awesome deal. You get a full sized tube of the Shadow Primer and 6 of Too Faced shadows in their best selling colors- Full Frontal, Glamazon, Socialite, Boy Toy, Skinny Dip and Lucky Charms. Too Faced has super pigmented gorgeous colors that stay true and need only one swipe to give amazing true color. Bold, beautiful and RICH. They make my eyes feel moisturized and even without the primer go on beautifully. WITH the primer they last all freaking day and have NO fallout whatsoever. Skinny Dip, Boy Toy and Lucky Charms used together is INTENSE. I used these 3 together to go to an Oscar Watching event and spent the entire evening being stopped by women asking me about my shadow. Full Frontal, Glamazon and Socialite manage to be earth tones and still be flashy- subtle flashiness if that's possible? A lot of earth tones go on sheer, but these truly pack a punch staying true to their in-pan color. Even Glamazon, which would appear to go on with no color app is a true champagne that coats the lids with gorgeous sparkly fantabulousness.

Sephora Glitter Lashes in gold is undeniably a great deal. Cheap, pretty, and stays on great. Just not on your lashes. It works great to apply a glittery veil to your liner or what have you, but upon trying to put it on my lashes..... not so much. It has a brush style applicator, and when I tried to put it on my lashes, all it did was clump them into weird little spikes that didn't even look glittery. VERY disappointing. Again, great for anything BUT lashes. If they'd just change the name and market it for some other use they'd have a winner. For $5.00 I'll continue to use it as a liner or shadow enhancer- just not put it on my lashes. If I want glittery lashes I'll use a mascara that's glittered. If it had a tube that I could dip a wand into I'd use it on my lashes but the brush is permanently attached.

Vincent Longo waterproof liquid liner in Rossino is a mixed bag. I ADORE that it's such an unusual color. You would think a red liner would look awful but it's actually pretty freaking cool. Rihanna is an enormous fan, actually. Going against all common sense, it makes your eyes look super clear and bright drawing away any tiredness or discoloration. The only drawback to this liner is that it takes a few swipes to get it looking good because it seems to clump a tidge. I recommend twirling the applicator inside the tube a few times to whip it up before putting it on.

I have previously reviewed Earth's Beauty mascara, and I also quite like their lipsticks as well. :
Earth's Beauty won 2 awards in the October, 2008 Natural Solutions magazine "Beauty With A Conscience" Awards.  The Shea and Aloe lipstick won for "Best Lipstick" and the Natural Mascara won as an "Editor Pick". Both products come in handy travel size as well as full sizes.
Their Shea and Aloe mineral lipstick in Summer Quartz  (second from the left)

is lovely. It's incredibly shimmery but your lips look as if they're just naturally glistening. It's got just enough pink to boost your lip color without looking like you've actually done anything. I love it when I can trick people into thinking I just look that good all on my own! I love this so much that I gave a tube to my friend Michele for her birthday in this same color. And the ingredients are such that I don't have to worry about being poisoned!
Ingredients: castor oil, shea butter, candellila wax, carnauba wax, beeswax, Vitamin E,  iron oxide, mica, aloe vera extract (numbers 2 & 3 also contain carmine).

I'm sure there's many other things that could be said about these, but all I care about is how these smell and how they make my hair smell. Bath & Body Works
Coconut Lime Verbena Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner smell soooooo good and they leave that amazing crisp clean smell behind in a subtle way for hours. The scent isn't so pervasive that it overwhelms, but just enough that it makes me keep grabbing chunks of my hair and inhaling deeply. I would not recommend using this stuff at night since the super sharp tang is like a slap in the face of wake-the-heck-up.
Oh yeah, it also makes your hair really soft and thick feeling. I guess that's supposed to be the main point of volumizing hair care, but again, all I really care about is the smell :-)

Beautiful by Estee Lauder is a very grown-up fragrance. I think if someone under the age of 25 tried to wear it, it'd smell freaky. According to the company:
PRODUCT DETAILS
The fragrance of a thousand flowers.
A tender bouquet of Lilies and Roses, Marigold and Orange Blossoms...all warmed with a rich, woody base and brightened with a touch of citrus.
Romantic, tender, memorable.

Fragrance Type: Floral

Top Notes
  • Rose
  • Lily
  • Tuberose
  • Marigold
  • Mandarin
  • Middle Notes
  • Orange Flower
  • Muguet
  • Jasmine
  • Ylang-Ylang
Base Notes
Sandalwood Vetiver Amber

For me, I prefer the dry down of the middle and base notes, the top notes are a bit cloying for me, which is odd since I've read a ton of reviews from people referring to this as a "light" scent and I find it to be just the opposite.  I actually prefer to put this on a good hour or two before I'm going to be smelled, cause I do so love the dry down on this over the top notes. To me the top notes feel a bit dated, kinda 80's in that power suit with Reeboks kinda way.  It's almost like 2 different perfumes.
Pink Beauty Lipshimmer in Rosaline is for when you want a little something extra but nothing too obvious. It's extremely sheer with a hint of shimmer and a subtle vanilla scent. Pink Beauty Cosmetics is a Canadian company and they have awesome packaging. The tube is a work of art in and of itself and makes you look like you bring home the bacon when you pull it out. If you want to oomph up the volume, use a lip liner to fill the lips and put this over it for all day shimmer.
