Not a suckah in the bunch! At only $10 a month (less if you subscribe for three or six months or a year at a time) Birchbox was the first beauty sub and is still one of the best. I love that just by answering the super fast surveys on your products each month, you get points toward full sized products, so it's like you're basically only paying $5 a month. Can't beat that! twistbands are apparently a love or hate thing for folks. I fall into the love category. Ever since Birchbox first introduced me to these handy little buggers, I feel naked without them. As I type this, I have three of them on my right wrist. I use them ALL the time- when you have waist length hair there's always a need to get your hair out of the way. They don't pull my hair and they add a cute pop of color. They look better on my wrist than a standard hairband and I am one of those people that that must ALWAYS have a hairband at the ready.

Mighty Leaf Tea- What a controversial Birchbox! Another thing that people grouse about getting (if they'd thrown in a perfume sample it'd be a trifecta of bitching!) But me? I LOVE getting tea! I'm a big tea drinker, I even have an electric kettle in my bedroom so I can top off my mug without having to go downstairs to the kitchen. Mighty Leaf is a favorite brand of mine. For realz, I have a pitcher of their peach ginger iced tea in my fridge at this exact moment. Silly as it sounds, one of my favorite things about this brand is how the tea smells. When I'm brewing Mighty Leaf, I can smell it from across the room.
Birchbox and Color Club® Custom Collection in Status Update- I absolutely love Color Club polishes, yet another brand I was introduced to by Birchbox (see why you should subscribe to them?) They have excellent coverage, they apply like a dream, and they're incredibly chip resistant. Basically, everything you want in a polish. I did NOT expect to be as blown away by this stuff as I was. Nothing can turn back the clock and make split ends disappear (well, a pair of scissors....) but this is by far the most impressive job I've seen as far as a temporary fix. In one use my split ends were visibly repaired. By binding your splits, you keep them from progressing until you can go and get a trim. Total win with this trio. Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash
Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish- Man oh man, do I love Benefit! From their gorgeous retro packaging to the sheer awesomeness of the products themselves, I am rarely disappointed with a Benefit product. The facial polish left my skin feeling like silk and the facial wash got every last bit of gunk without drying out my skin. Both products are extremely concentrated so they'll last a long time, too.

This is a cool deal I found on Amazon, they're selling not only the Cynthia Rowley Band Aids, but also the Cynthia Rowley designed makeup bag that came with the last Beauty.com sampler! Not only pretty, but also real actual Band Aid brand Band Aids! I am a total klutz and am constantly injuring myself so I like to buy cute adhesive bandages. Sadly, a lot of them are adorable but completely useless. These are good old fashioned, hard working, long lasting Band Aids, so you get the best of both worlds. I have been hoarding these like a squirrel, I've got something like 10 boxes in my medicine cabinet.
When I first got this, Birchbox had an exclusive on the British Eyeko brand, but now you can pick one up at Sephora for $16. This eyeliner has my undying love. I received a similar pen from Marbella in an Ipsy shipment, and this is what they wish they were but stumbled. I just saw that they have a purple and an olive one! OOOOHHHH! You can make super skinny lines or big old fat cat eyes with ease. This stuff doesn't smudge or flake and is ridiculously easy to apply. The nub is flexible and leaves a beautiful even clean line. Love love love. If you're an eyeliner kinda gal, you owe it to yourself to try this one out.
I found a great deal on this! Fragrance.net has the 3.4 oz for less than most places sell the 1 oz! This was included to promote the then new Birchbox men. In the tube I thought it smelled too much like Polo (high school flashbacks to my gay boyfriend) but after the hubband put some on and it warmed into his skin, I found myself really digging it! I was surprised- I didn't think anyone could match the quality of Benefit's Benetint. I like that this has a sponge applicator for the lips so you don't have to worry about pouring out too much liquid and it's more gel like in it's consistency so it doesn't run everywhere. The consistency makes it easier to apply to the lips than Benetint, but harder to apply to the cheeks since it doesn't blend in as easily. I love how companies are doing these multipurpose products so much lately! Saves tons of time and makes packing for trips much easier.
This stuff is DA BOMB. I have gone through 3 tubes of this stuff since I first got the sample. They do sell it in a larger jar, but I prefer the tube because I can carry it easily in my purse to use throughout the day. Because I wash my hands so much at work, I can apply layer after layer of regular lotion and my hands still feel dry. When I massage this in, I can practically hear my hands whispering "thank you!" on chapped lips, it feels amazing. It has a really thick consistency, but it actually absorbs into the skin with no trace of a greasy feel at all and leaves behind nothing but baby soft, hydrated, grateful skin. In the summertime when I spend a lot of time outdoors getting bug bites, this stuff is a lifesaver. It's so soothing and makes the itches go away immediately. An all around miracle cream, it's no surprise that it has a cult following. Yes, it has a camphor smell at first, but the scent fades within a minute or two.

Normally I'm a total nutcase about my Birchbox, but the August one really ticked me off. So technically, I'm being a bit of a baby about this one, but I've gotten so used to Birchbox being super awesome that this one was a giant let down. Not one but TWO self tanning products? Pale is beautiful! Natural redheads look STUPID with tans! Do they send skin bleaching creams to african americans? I'll try almost anything once, but self tanners is where I draw the line.
And the Beauty Fixation Makeup Removers? I simply cannot wrap my brain around being SO freaking lazy that you can't dip a q-tip into a bottle of makeup remover. "no, I must have a specially formulated q-tip filled with makeup remover! I am not happy unless I'm spending 500 times the extra money for a concept!"
Okay, I like Juicy Couture, really I do. I don't even mind getting perfume samples, though a lot of bloggers grouse like crazy about it. But when they send out a perfume sample, i really prefer something obscure or ridonculously expensive. You can't swing a dead cat in a mall without hitting 20 free JC samples.
Now it wasn't all irritation. They included this Schick Hydro Silk razor that I LOVE. That right there sells for the $10 that the Birchbox costs. 5 blades so it gets even the knobbiest of knees with no nicks. One of the softest, smoothest shaves of my life. Replaceable heads so you aren't being a giant landfill dumper. Water activated moisturizing serum that keeps moisturizing your legs for 2 HOURS after you've shaved. One of the comfiest, most ergonomic razors I've ever used.
I found this great deal on Amazon where even with shipping you save money AND get a free can of shaving cream.
Then there's the DDF cleanser. Ironically, a brightening cleanser (which is basically skin bleaching.) I have it in my cabinet since I already am using another cleanser, but I can say that I love DDF products, no holds barred.
So whah- I got way more than what I spent. I just saw what so many other people got and I felt shafted. Still, considering that I've gotten these for 2 years and this is the first time I've gotten all whiny? Not too shabby. And my whiny product reviews scored me 60 Birchbox points which is the equivalent of $6.00 cash to spend on any full sized item in the Birchbox store, so I can't be too bitchy!
