So I make these on a regular basis for my sweetie to take to work. For years he took granola bars, but those are really just glorified candy bars full of corn syrup. Now if we run out he harangues me for the next batch. I start with a basic recipe and tweak it to add different goodies :-) This is super nutritious and filling- they get him through the day and now his co-workers always try to gank some off of him- I'm starting to get requests from his starving co-workers who work too hard to get a break.
These take no time at all to whip up and while I do call them cookies, they're more like a soft chewy granola bar.
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas (this is a great way to use up bananas that have gotten too squishy)
2 cups rolled oats
1/3 cup fruit sauce (apple sauce for example. I made a batch with homemade pear puree once that was AMAZING!)
1 TSP vanilla extract
2 TBSP chia seeds
1/2 cup dried fruit - these are great with cranberries or tart cherries!
Preheat oven to 350 and mix everything together, smashing up the bananas first. Use a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. These are STICKY! Put them on the cookie sheet by spoonfuls and flatten them just a little bit. Cook for about 25 minutes or until the edges crisp a bit. They won't become overall crispy.
If you've never used a konjac sponge, you need to know that they are THE BOMB. It blows my mind that something that is basically a perfectly shaped piece of vegetable root could be the best face cleanser ever. You will be amazed at how smooth, bright and exfoliated your skin is using these and after about a week of regular use your pores will become absolutely tiny. No special sauce needed, just this sponge and some water. If you still want to use cleanser with it, you just need a drop as the sponge will make it foam up like nobody's business.
You have NO EXCUSE now not to wash your face before bed because this is about as low maintenance as it gets. Get it wet. Rub it on your face. Go to bed. Boom. Done. It even gets off makeup and it's naturally ph balanced to keep your skin gorgeous without needing toner. Plus, it doesn't dry out your skin like so many cleanser can. Mineral Fusion Sparkle Bronzer ($29.99!)- this turned out to be a holy grail item for me. Contains both grapeseed extract and camellia extract- both excellent for your skin. I use this at least a few times a week, it's in my default makeup bag. I have very fair, freckled skin and this is not too dark on me. It gives a beautiful glow to your face and the subtle shimmer really draws the eye up giving you great cheekbone definition. I use this to sculpt my cheekbones and slenderize my face. A little goes a long way too, my pan looks practically untouched, and like I said, I use it at least 3 times a week.

Giovanni 2Chic Ultra Sleek shampoo & conditioner and a sampler 3 pack- ooooh! Pretty hair! Contains Brazilian Phyto-Keratin and Moroccan Argan Oil. Totally sulfate and chemical free! A lot of people don't like sulfate free shampoos because they want lots of foaming action and this surprisingly actually gives you that! It smells wonderful and feels very luxurious. Ohhhh are these ever delightful. Quite flavorful without being bitter, and the jasmine scent is to die for. I like to pretty much just shove my face in there. It's actually a nice little triple threat. I like to steam my face with it while waiting for it to cool enough to drink, then after drinking the tea the bags on your eyes are a great pick me up, relaxing the eye area (especially during allergy season) with the caffeine effectively shrinking bags and puffiness while you get to smell more of that heavenly jasmine.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I get awful insomnia and glory be and halleluloo! This stuff is AWESOME!!!!! I'm waiting on a big end of the year check, and when I get it, I'm buying a case of this stuff. Literally. Because I take so many prescription meds for my lupus I have a hard time being affected by things that knock out most people, but there's something about this specific blend that totally keeps me asleep through the night with no problems waking up in the morning and no nasty hangover. Seriously, NyQuil doesn't knock me out. You can even take a half bottle in the middle of the night and still get up just fine- relaxed, not groggy.

Not really sure why they included two cuticle creams, but luckily this is something that I use many times a day, so it's not like it'll go to waste. Another great all purpose cream that is not only wonderful on your nails and cuticles, but softens and conditions the driest of skin without heavy scents (so they're gender neutral.) If you use this at night before bed on your toes then sleep in socks, when you wake up your toenail beds look lovely. Great to do his the night before doing a mani pedi!
