Good Lordamighty. They have got to have possibly the coolest stuff on the planet. And the prices are AWESOME! It's kinda like having a personal shopper who also gets you big discounts. You also get money credits whenever you make a purchase! Seriously! You can join for free and soon you'll be the hippest cat on the block......
I had my concerns about Joyus acquiring Foodzie, but it seems like they're doing a great job so far- my only complaint being that they don't do the cooking boxes anymore! Boo! Well, I say that, but they do currently have up the pizza grilling box (which I've gotten and reviewed previously and might just get another one). They also have a coconut themed box and they just released the fall flavors box which looks interesting..... I love the videos that Emily does giving you a real idea of the box- nice touch! What's super cool though? If you join through THIS LINK you get a $10 credit.
The Brunch Cooking Box gave a great idea of their customer service- one of my items broke and they immediately gave me a credit for 50% off my next box! To receive such a variety of curated luxe foods for the low price of $29.95 is a delight, and while I do have stores like Central market and Whole Foods, I enjoy getting products that I might not have ever thought of buying myself or that are from such small boutique companies that they'd never be available to me locally.
So the retail value of this box was $36.68, and when you consider that I'd have to pay shipping individually on each of these fabu items, I saved even more. And believe me- it's worth it! I wound up buying some of the butterhorns cause I totally had to have some and they blew my mind- they were amazing dipped in the lemon curd!
$12 a month (or less if you pay for 3, 9 or 12 months at one time) You not only get your money's worth, but I love the mix of luxe brands with lesser known but still fabulous companies. I'm also a fan of how they include natural cosmetics and skincare that folks who are used to doing all of their shopping at Sephora may not be aware of. Smaller company does not mean not as good- often it's better than a lot of the big name products on the market! (For instance Everyday Minerals......) What's also great is that you get introduced to quality products that don't cost an arm and a leg- the mineral makeups and the Blum products are awesome yet also affordable- something that is a sometimes difficult to locate combo. Beauty for the discerning maiden on a budget :-)
Everyday Minerals makes handmade vegan mineral cosmetics that seriously kick Bare Essentials ass! I first heard of them 2 or 3 years ago when I started using their fabulous finely milled eyeshadows. Then I fell in love with their foundation minerals. You can even try before you buy HERE by picking out 7 different samples to figure out the best shade for you! They have 4 different foundation types available so this is the perfect way to not only find your perfect shade but also your perfect finish. Their mineral foundation is seriously way better than many of the big name brands, extremely finely milled, long lasting, buildable and with a light, natural feel that leaves you glowing. They now have a jojoba based foundation that I just MUST try. I reviewed their shadows on my blog some time back HERE
Everyday Minerals Girl Friday Blush- is a lovely, whisper light blush that's perfect for the blushaphobics out there. It gives a little extra rosiness to the cheeks without being heavy or obvious.
Value $10.99
I previously reviewed the Comodynes travel face wipe towelettes HERE. They specialize in travel friendly skincare options, a jet setter's dream! I am absolutely grabbing some of these the next time I take a trip to pick my face up off the floor after a long flight or drive.
New Egg has them for about $10 less than Sephora or Ulta through the link below.
Comodynes Easy Peeling Towelette
Value $1.62
These are what is currently in my purse. I love the snap shut plastic case, normally my blotting papers get destroyed after a week or two in the purse of death and I have to put them into a ziploc bag, but this little case makes that a problem of the past. Since they don't have talc on them like so many blotting papers do, they pick up the oil without leaving any streaking on your makeup. I am so happy to discover that Blum makes these! And the price? Even Sephora's store brand tissues are twice that much. Want to try them for free? Vitacost has the entire Blum line and if you use THIS LINK you get a $10 coupon than can be applied to shipping as well, so they'd be 100% free!
Blum Naturals Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues
Value $4.99
I have gotten really attached to Blum products over the last year. They're safe, natural, effective and insanely inexpensive. Keep your eyes out for a Blum giveaway I'll be doing ;-)
I am so thrilled to have been introduced to The All Natural Face! I first sampled them through Eco Emi and the Conscious Box and fell in love, so imagine my delight to see them in a mainstream beauty box! A lot of gals are wary of mineral makeup or just plain haven't tried it, and they don't know what they're missing. Not only is it healthier for your skin, but they're also healthier for your body since your skin absorbs into your system over 60% of what you put onto it. They too have samples available, so you can try before you buy! This color is amazing, it truly looks like the rose gold used for jewelry. And foiled? WOW. The color just goes KABAAM. Very eye catching and very flattering.
The All Natural Face Vegan Mineral Eyeshadow in Rose Gold
Value $3.50
Blinc first impressed me with their tubing mascara, so I was really excited to try out this eyeliner. My eyes can be sensitive sometimes. When my allergies are running amock, my eyes just water and water like nobody's business- I just CANNOT keep my eyeliner from smudging. I first discovered how much of a saving grace the mascara was for allergy season, so what better time to put this stuff to the test! An eyeliner that comes off with just water and pressure but won't come off if you rub your eyes or cry or swim? WHAH? This stuff is simply- WOW.
Sign Up Here to join Shoe Dazzle and get your first pair of shoes for 20% off!
Something I like about Shoe Dazzle that's a little different from some other membership sites is that you don't have to make the effort to go online and choose to skip a month- you order shoes when you feel like it with no financial obligation or hoops to jump through. They also now carry a wide range of items, including FABU jewelry. They are also now making things different prices, you aren't generally going to pay the same for a pair of flats as you would for heels, for example. While the average price is $39.95, they do vary depending on the item. They also have effortless free returns and excellent customer service.
Look at these awesome shoes they just put up the other day.........These are AWESOME.
Beauty Bar and Allure got together and came up with one of the best beauty samplers out there- Sample Society. The products included are high end, highly lauded brands and there are no packette samples here- you receive only deluxe samples and occasionally even full sized product. When you sign up, you also get a freee one year subscription to Allure magazine, which I had never read before and now really look forward to getting every month.
Another great thing is that each month you get a booklet that tells you hints and tips that incorporate the items in that month's box. For instance, there was a section on the best way to apply perfume to get the effect you want because this box had a perfume sample (and not a vial either, but an adorable little bottle!)
With each $15 box you also get a coupon code to get $15 off the full size of any of the items in the box, another great deal.
But wait there's more! With every person who signs up through a referral link, they donate money to a number of different awesome charities! Just use the code JKEE4979 when signing up at BeautyBar.com they'll donate up to $30.
This box included the following (I will review only the items that I've actually used) Jane Iredale - Just Kissed
Just Kissed uses a peptide that has been shown to increase hydration and collagen synthesis, helping to reduce feathering. It's a shea butter based formula, so it goes on smooth and creamy with a hint of a tingle. I LOVE the way it smells and tastes and it really DOES plump up your lips! I've gone on to buy two tubes of this stuff, I LOVE it! It's a light tint, not a really heavy color so it emphasizes your natural lip. The hint of color accentuates the lips rather than overwhelming them and has a really sexy effect.
Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in Tokyo Sample Value $15.62
Live In Love by Oscar De La Renta for Women - 1 oz EDP Spray
I could go on all day about this perfume! Floral but not overwhelming and cloying, sexy but not trashy, sophisticatd but not stuffy. So many florals start out so heavy that they make me gag, but this one has a hint of ginger in the top notes that add a touch of class and take away the hammer over the head effect. It has slightly musky undertones which also provides some grounding. This is a SERIOUSLY sexy perfume! The first time I wore this I just couldn't stop smelling myself, to the point that when my husband came home he asked me "do you two need to be alone?" He doesn't often comment on my perfumes unbidden, but he REALLY likes this one. When I wear it I can't keep him off of me! Oscar De La Renta Eau de Parfum in Live in Love Sample Value $5.80
Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist by Alterna for Unisex - 4.2 oz Mist
I have yet to meet an Alterna product that I didn't like, and this is no exception. I am absolutely NUTS for the new Bamboo line. I've used other texture mists and they never really seemed to work on fine, straight hair. This actually did bring out the wave in my hair. not massive curls or anything, mind you, but it ave my hair some extra volume and definition. I've also been using it as something of a styling aid to add extra texture to help keep up updos.
Alterna Boho Waves Texture Mist. Sample Value $4.47
Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream 0.5 oz
Haven't used this yet, but it's Caudalie, one of the best premier skincare brands in the market so I know it's sure to be fabulous. The Premier Cru line is their top of the line gold standard. Kinda like buying not just any Mercedes off the showroom floor, but the top of the line custom Mercedes. Caudalie's Premier Cru Eye Cream Sample Value $6.26
