Worn Out

Nothing seems to get quite as many comments as when I wear something unique and one of a kind. For the life of me, I don't understand why anyone would want to look and dress just like everyone else. In small towns where the only place to shop is Wal Mart, I can only imagine how weird it is to run into someone on a daily basis wearing a piece of clothing or jewelry or shoes that you also own. No one's going to stop you in the grocery store and ask where you got your ------ (whatever). A few things that I've been fond of in the last week that have gotten me questions about where to purchase them are:

From Poppy's Wicked Garden
This unique necklace is made with strands of raw black jersey knit fabric. Loop it around for different looks or as a huge chunky bracelet too:)
approximately 50" length. This looks awesome with a tank or a sundress and adds a funky flair to the most boring clothing.
Her clothing designs are what REALLY take the cake. She makes her own designs and will sew the piece to YOUR measurements! How cool is that? Having a personal seamstress at Wal-Mart prices? Can't beat that. I love her fun and offbeat designs, with a touch of retro mingled with a future forward feel. She even does her own screenprints on material!

New pieces are added constantly, so you never know what gorgeous designs she'll come up with next. Check out her shop and tell her The Beauty Pirate sent ya!

Claire's Closet has lots of baby and children's gear, but what I adore them for is their hair clips! I am simply addicted to them, despite their being intended for children.
This hair bow has a special place in my heart- I was wearing it when I had a bicycle accident that put me in the hospital. My face, body, clothing and glasses were all destroyed, but somehow this jaunty little bow took a licking and kept on ticking. I still wear it constantly and it serves a reminder to me to always wear my helmet, even if I DO have a fancy hairdo for the evening!

Ohhhhhhh, but their character clippies! I'm in love! Attached to alligator clips, these can be worn in the hair or clipped onto anything you desire, from a purse strap to a shirt collar. I can't even show you all of the amazing choices, you'll just have to see for yourself. Sesame Street characters, princesses, pirates- you name it! As elaborate as the character clips are, they're only $5.00.

I do think I'd like to get one of these tutus for my niece for Christmas- their tutus are too too cute!
