I'm in the mood for love......

How can you not feel beautiful when you're being pampered? Thee are a lot of products out there that are fun ways to oomph up your romantic life while notching down your stress levels. When we relax, our health, our relationships and our interior life all benefit and give you a glow that no $200 lotion can provide.  There's something fun about going with your partner to an adult store and picking out things together on the spur of the moment, but for the shy types (or those inconveniently located) you also have tons of online options now as well. Some of these products are total CRAP and some are delightful. I'm in a good mood today (case in point!) so I'm going to focus on the positive and give you some of my suggestions.

Shunga Vanilla Massage Oil

This is made from cold pressed almond oil, so it's incredibly moisturizing. Almond oil has a little more thickness than some of the other options, so this is a good way to go if you want something a little less messy and doesn't need much reapplication. I recommend this line for people who want a slightly sweeter scent than your regular herbal scented massage oils.  It absorbs really well but still leaves a smooth surface on the skin to work with. I also like to put some of this in the tub for a relaxing, moisturizing bath.

Kama Sutra Oil Of Love in Cherry Almond
Kama Sutra Oil of Love is "oil' in name only. It's actually a latex safe water soluble formula. This is a flavored "oil" that gets hot when you blow or breathe on it, making it a perfect toy to experiment with if you're just learning about such things. Fun without being intimidating! Warning: This stuff can get STICKY. You definitely want to wash it off after you're done playing unless you want to feel like a half eaten lollipop! Some similar brands taste neeasty but these are pleasant. I really like the cherry almond for it's more earthy almond flavor with a hint of cherry sweetness.

Kama Sutra Honey Dust
This stuff is famous! Made with real powdered honey, it's a silky soft powder that adds a subtle sweet flavor to the skin. It comes with a feather duster, so you can tease your partner for a giggle. It also makes an EXCELLENT body powder and if you sprinkle it on your sheets it gives them a sweet smell and a satiny texture. Very finely milled and available in a number of scent/flavor options. This is hands down their most popular product.

Royal Lavender Aromassage Pleasure Oil (w/carnation oil and vitamin e)
I like to use lavender in the evening since it's so relaxing, and combined with a massage, well, how much more relaxed can you get? Carnation oil has a natural subtle sweetness that blends well with the lavender and vitamin E has been proven to help heal the skin. The best part? I adore the jelly massage mitt! Excuse me while I make that gurgling noise that Homer Simpson makes when thinking about things like "world's biggest donut...."

Kama Sutra Treasure Of The Sea bath salt
Um, I guess I really like Kama Sutra's line of stuff. Classy looks, well made products, and nothing you'd be horrified to leave sitting on the nightstand. A nourishing blend of sea salt, seaweeds and marine minerals, this is a luxurious bath salt! It turns the water a lovely cerulean with a light "ocean" scent. Leaves the skin soft and refreshed, and is a great addition to a tub for two! This is a nice start to relax the muscles before you get 9or give) that massage :-)

Cal Exotics Ginger Lime Pheremone Mist bed and body spray talc
I LOVE this stuff. While available in many scents, the Ginger Lime is my favorite. This is a spray powder that you lightly mist over your sheets for not only an invigorating aromatherapy boost, but it also creates a silky texture on the cloth and absorbs perspiration. While it does say it works as a body talc, I find it sprays too directly onto the skin- stick with more old fashioned body powder application.
All of these products are available in multiple scents/flavors (except for the bath salts) - these just happen to be examples of some of my favorites.
