Here’s the scene: It’s midnight. You’re still packing for tomorrow's business trip (because, duh). You’re exhausted and in desperate need of a good night’s sleep. But you also need to wake up at 5 a.m. to make that 7:15 flight. Not a very big window for shut-eye. Do you crash now? Do you keep packing?
When do you fall asleep?
Turn to sleepyti.me, a website that suggests an ideal bedtime based on when you need to wake up. It's not always "the more sleep, the better." The trick is to wake up between REM cycles, not in the middle of one (a recipe for grogginess).
For example, if you need to be bright-eyed at 5 a.m., you shouldn't pass out at midnight. You should actually aim for 1 a.m. And then everyday? If you normally get up for work at 7 a.m.; try to clock out around 11:30 p.m....or 1 a.m....or 2:30 a.m. Who knew?
